Head of Voice

Alongside a busy career as a freelance artist, Katherine is proud to hold the position of Head of Voice and Music Department Manager at St Mary’s Music School.

St Mary’s Music School, a specialist music school based in Edinburgh, provides world-class music and academic education for talented young musicians aged 9-19, drawing young people from Scotland, the UK, and beyond. Notable alumni include Steven Osborne, Garry Walker, Helen Grime, David Horne, and Alexander Armstrong. The school's mission is to foster academic and musical excellence in a supportive environment with funding available through the Scottish Government.  It opens its doors to young musicians through masterclasses, interactive days and Saturday Music Classes.

Katherine has always had a passion for music education. She has taught singing and music theory privately since 2010 and has been heavily involved in outreach projects with companies such as Samling Institute for Young Artists and Edinburgh International Festival. In her role at St Mary’s Music School, Kate hopes to bring her musical and professional experiences to the next generation of artists and singers so they can emerge into the industry with all the tools they need to succeed.
